2) SOLES Science Extravaganza Volunteers

SOLES is holding their annual Science Extravaganza event Saturday February 28th, 2015 and is in dire need of Team Leaders! SWE would like to support this event, so if anyone is available to help out during the day please sign up HERE. 3) SWE WITT w/ Lea Poquerusse

Lea Poquerusse is a first year MBA student at the Stanford Business School and engineer by training. She has a BEng from McGill (2010) and an MS from MIT (2012), both in chemical engineering. Prior to attending Stanford, she worked in energy consulting for a company called Navigant in Boston and then Dubai. Lea Poquerusse will be giving a talk “Unlocking Your Potential & Being Comfortable with the Unknown Road Ahead” on Tuesday March 3rd, 2015 at 5:00 pm in ENGR 242.

4) SWE Call for Applications for FY’16 Officers

It is this time of year again to start thinking about whether you want to become the next leader for SWE–SJSU for next year. Leadership comes with many benefits and rewards, feel free to ask any of our current officers. Now is the time to start considering if you would like to be the next President, Vice President, Secretary or Treasurer of SWE–SJSU!

5) Cisco Systems Inc. Tour and Internship Opportunity

Cisco Systems Inc. is opening their door to our SWE members! The tour is on Friday March 6, 2015begins at 10 am sharp in the lobby building P and ends at 12pm. Please fill out the google form HERE if you are interested. Lunch will be provided as well as an internship session with the hiring manager in interning with them in the summer. 6) Cisco Systems Inc. Info Session @ SJSU

Cisco will be on campus this coming Monday, February 23 starting at 12:00 PM in ENGR 285/87 before the Career Fair on Tuesday. They are particularly looking interested in speaking with undergraduate students in computer science, computer engineering, and software engineering. Cisco is coming to campus next week for the Cisco at SJSU | IT Office Hours! They are looking for candidates who do not require a visa sponsorship to hire as interns and new hires. Hello SWE Members!

Don’t forget to mark you calenders for these upcoming events!

1) SWE Bake Sale!!
Swe will be holding a bake sale this Thursday, February 19th from 9:00am to 5:00pm in the Engineering building. Feel free to bake, help us set up, volunteer during this time. We would love your support, so don’t forget to stop by! If you have any more questions regarding the bake sale, feel free to email us.

2) SOLES Science Extravaganza Volunteers

We would like to invite you to a resume workshop on Wednesday, February 18th at 5:00 pm in ENGR 285 hosted by SWE in collaboration with Donna Gilmour, Employment Specialist Lead and Liaison to the College of Engineering & Department of Computer Science. Bring in your resume and feel free to ask any questions you have regarding your resume or cover letter. All students are welcome to participate!

SWE is off to a running start with lost of activities planned! Here is what SJSU-SWE is working on:

3) SWE Officer Meeting next Wednesday, February 11th at 5:00 pm

We will be holding our second officer meeting of the semester on Wednesday, February 11th at 5:00 pm in ENGR 242. All members are invited, so we hope you can make it!

3) SWE General Member Meeting next Wednesday, February 11th at 6:00 pm

We will be holding our first member meeting of the semester on Wednesday, February 11th at 6:00 pm in ENGR 242 right after the officer meeting. SWE is going to be having a Mock Career Fair at this meeting, which will include both a resume booth and an interview booth. Before attending the EXPO ‘15 Engineering and Science Job & Internship Fair on February 24th in the SJSU Event Center, take advantage of this opportunity to “warm-up” and learn from our experienced SWE members. We hope to see you all there and pizza will be provided. Come catch up with our SWE officers and members, new and old!

4) SOLES and SWE Bowling Social on February 12th

SOLES and SWE are having the first of many joint activities next Thursday, February 12th at 8:00 pm in AMF Mission Lanes. Please email us back if you are interested in going so we may get a head count. We hope to see you all there! 🙂
